Service-Specific Questions
-
What's the difference between grading and excavation?
-
At Bylo Acres Excavation & Grading, we offer both excavation and grading services, each with its own specific purpose and benefits. Excavation is the process of removing earth to form a cavity or open space, commonly used for projects like trenching for utilities or preparing land for building structures. On the other hand, grading involves leveling the earth's surface to a specified slope, often for proper drainage or to prepare for paving or landscaping. While excavation digs into the land, grading shapes it, and both services often go hand-in-hand to ensure your land is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
-
-
Do I need a permit for excavation or grading?
-
The answer to this question can vary depending on your location, as each city and county has its own set of requirements and regulations for excavation and grading projects. However, you can rest easy knowing that Bylo Acres Excavation & Grading takes care of all the necessary business licenses and permits required to provide our services in your area. While we handle our own permissions, it's important to check with your local municipality to determine if you, as the property owner, need any additional permits or approvals.
-
-
Can you work in all types of weather?
-
While we strive to be as accommodating as possible, weather conditions can impact the safety and quality of our excavation and grading work. Heavy rain, for example, can make the ground too unstable for effective excavation. That being said, we do our best to schedule your project during optimal weather conditions and will communicate any necessary changes to your timeline should inclement weather arise. Our primary concern is always the safety of our team and the success of your project.

Cost-Related Questions
-
How is the cost of a project determined?
-
Several factors come into play when estimating the cost of your excavation or grading project. Key considerations include the scope of work, the type of soil on your property, and ease of access to the site. Additional elements like specialized attachments or materials needed may also affect the overall price. At Bylo Acres Excavation & Grading, we believe in transparent pricing and will provide you with a detailed estimate outlining all anticipated costs before we begin work.
-
-
Do you require a down payment?
-
Yes, to secure your spot on our schedule, we require a 25% down payment of the total project cost. If your project also involves material costs, we require a 50% deposit for the estimated materials. These deposits are due at the time of scheduling and are non-refundable. However, if your plans change, we do offer the flexibility to move your deposit to a future date within the next 6 months, provided we receive at least 2 weeks' notice before the original scheduled date.
-
-
Are there any hidden fees I should be aware of?
-
No, at Bylo Acres Excavation & Grading, we pride ourselves on our transparency and commitment to fair pricing. We provide detailed estimates upfront so you know exactly what you're paying for. Should the scope of work change or additional services be requested while we're on-site, we'll provide a new price quote prior to beginning any extra work. Rest assured, there will never be any hidden costs when you work with us.
